Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about Frick Products
What is Frick known for in industrial refrigeration?
Frick is one of the oldest and most recognized names in industrial refrigeration, with a history dating back to the 1880s. Now part of Johnson Controls, Frick is best known for its complete refrigeration system packages including rotary screw compressors, reciprocating compressors, condensers, evaporators, chillers, oil separation systems and electronic control platforms. Frick systems are widely used in ammonia (R-717) and other industrial refrigerant applications across food processing, cold storage, distribution, ice production and beverage manufacturing.
What types of Frick parts do you sell?
IRPC stocks thousands of Frick replacement parts including gaskets for oil separators, heat exchangers and compressor heads, coalescer and oil filter elements, shaft seal assemblies, wiring harnesses and cables for Vyper and other drive systems, temperature sensors, current transformers, contactors, couplings, shim packs and a wide range of additional components covering compressors, oil management, controls and system electronics.
Which Frick systems and models are covered by your inventory?
Our inventory spans parts for a wide range of Frick refrigeration platforms including rotary screw compressor packages with Vyper drive systems, reciprocating compressor units, chillers, heat exchangers and oil separation equipment. Many parts carry both Frick and York (YRK) part numbers. If you need help locating a part for a specific Frick system, contact our team and we will help you identify the correct component.
What is a coalescer filter element and when should it be replaced?
A coalescer filter element is used inside the oil separator on a Frick screw compressor system. It captures fine oil mist from the discharge gas and returns the oil to the compressor, which is critical for maintaining proper lubrication and system efficiency. Coalescer elements should be replaced when differential pressure across the separator rises above the manufacturer's recommended threshold or during scheduled maintenance intervals.
Why do some Frick parts have York (YRK) part numbers?
Frick was acquired by York International, which later became part of Johnson Controls. As a result, many Frick parts are now cataloged under York (YRK) part numbers. Both numbering systems refer to genuine Frick-compatible components. If you have either a legacy Frick number or a YRK number, our team can help you cross-reference and confirm the correct part.
Does you ship Frick parts to both Canada and the United States?
Yes. IRPC ships Frick parts to customers across Canada and the United States. In-stock items are ready to ship quickly, helping you minimize downtime and keep your refrigeration systems operating on schedule.
Can I return a Frick part if it doesn't fit my application?
IRPC offers a flexible return policy on Frick parts. If you are unsure whether a specific part is right for your system before ordering, contact our team by phone, email or live chat and we will help you confirm compatibility and availability.
